My grandmother also really likes football.

And yay for your hair looking good! After my last haircut, I wore a lot of makeup and big jewelry for like two weeks, to compensate. So I’m a little jealous

I am 73 and glad to still be alive. Life is so peaceful and full of fun and joy. Two of my grown children got 2 A’s each in their late blooming college careers recently. Youngest son gave me my first official grandchild in June. This son of mine finished college several years ago. Also glad for my greyish-brown hair which looks cute with my haircut and bangs. And thankful for Nebraska winning the football game against Iowa today!

Several people I know have been posting things they’re thankful for this November. It’s been really fun to see.

I’m thankful for lots of stuff, major and minor, but today I think I’m most thankful for the self esteem that allows me to accept and appreciate all the goodness I have in my life.

I’m not an American reader – actually, I’m an Italian one! I’ve been reading your blog for months (cause I like it!), and your challenge about what being grateful of encouraged me to comment. so here it goes.

I’m grateful for living between Rome and Southern Italy – which means between new and old friends, family and friends, between city and wild seaside. It’s like being lost and belonging to two places at the same time. It’s living contraddiction!
I’m grateful for feeling low and empty and being amazed by seeing how everything is full of beauty at the same time.
I’m grateful for the occasional crossing a stranger’s eyes. And for the occasional laughter with strangers in the street.
I’m grateful for pumpkin. with olive oil and red onions. and black pepper. lots of.

I am thankful for realizing that even brilliant people have mentors.

I am also thankful for my awesome large feet that I introduce like a crazy uncle to my friends and acquaintances (I have long loved these feet–one of my first Instant Message screen names that I created in middle school was ‘bigfootgoddess’–though I have only recently realized that it sounds as if I was a worshiper of bigfoot…):

Me: “So, I order most of my shoes off the internet because I have these ridiculously large feet….”

Them: ^looking at my feet^ “Really? They don’t look that big!”

Me: “Yeah, they fit my stature quite well, they are just large.”

I am also thankful that more shoe companies are producing cute shoes for females with size-11 feet!
