bra giveaway

This giveaway is from Carolina, a world traveling woman who created the mi-bra. She was born in Colombia and since then, she has been a staggering amount of places. I kind of want to drop everything and  follow her around.

I wanted to do this giveaway because the three times I’ve been jogging in my life, I really wished that 1. I was brave enough to just be wearing a sports bra and some shorts and 2. I had somewhere to put my keys and ipod.

This is the bra:

Here’s some info from Carolina:

The Mi-Bra is an eco-friendly sports bra, made with 90% organic cotton, and has a no frills pocket for you to place your iPod when exercising. You can also put a couple dollar bills in it to buy a bottle of water for your workout. Use the pocket to take your subway card, key, and debit card along for your exercise jaunt.  The organic cotton makes the mi-bra super comfy to workout in and looks great as well.

All ETDC readers can use the coupon code “aspire” to get 25% off on all mi-bra orders, whether or not you enter the giveaway.

To enter to win a bra, check out Girl Habits and  then leave a comment here on ETDC about why you want a Mi-Bra or who it’s for. You can enter from anywhere in the world. The giveaway ends a week from today, on the 30th.

If you want to increase your chance of winning, sort of like buying two lottery tickets, feel free to “like” Mi-Bra on Facebook, follow Girl Habits on Twitter, or tweet about the giveaway. Just make sure you leave a separate comment for each entry.

Good luck!

Carolina’s unroast: Today, I love the way I look with my washed hair tied back.

What a cool idea! I would love to have a mi-bra. I’ve recently started working out more and usually just hold on to my ipod with my sweaty hand, haha. This would be a much better option.

  2. Leah responded on 23 Aug 2012 at 1:08 pm #

Of course – such a cool idea deserves to be followed on twitter, which is what I’m doing as well! :)

I would love a Mi-Bra. I started this year wanting to get fit and I’m proud of myself so far. With a combo of small diet changes and a major revamp on my activity level, I’m feeling healthier than ever. Two months ago, I started running and haven’t slowed down yet. I love the useful pockets in the bra and the fact that it’s made with organic cotton.

I love the idea of the pocket in a bra and would love a Mi-Bra! While I haven’t had the courage to just wear a bra while I’m running (although that’s a goal of mine!), I always stuff money and my id in my sports bra, and its totally gross to pull out sweaty money when I need to buy emergency running rations.

  5. Ali C responded on 23 Aug 2012 at 1:12 pm #

And I just liked Mi-Bra on Facebook too!

  6. San D responded on 23 Aug 2012 at 1:14 pm #

I read it first as mini bra, and though WOW would I love my “girls” to be miniaturized while I exercised…LOL. I would love a mi-bra to put the key to my car when I work out. Don’t trust the lockers in the locker room for important stuff, so I always wear my key around my neck like an old lady geek!

  7. Ashley responded on 23 Aug 2012 at 1:19 pm #

My favorite part of working out is the “reward” afterwards. When I go running, my girlfriends and I like to run to a pub or a frozen yogurt place, so we have a delicious yogurt or a nice cold brew as our reward for getting out there. The mi-bra would be perfect for my i.d., a $20 bill and my smart phone, which tracks our mileage!

  8. Christina McPants responded on 23 Aug 2012 at 1:27 pm #

I love jogging outside but hate having to wear an armband for my phone. This would be an awesome alternative!

  9. Samantha Angela responded on 23 Aug 2012 at 1:40 pm #

I want it for me. I can never have too many sports bras.

  10. Melanie responded on 23 Aug 2012 at 1:41 pm #

Oh, me me me!!! I need one!! I run quite a bit and I HATE my iPod armband thing. It always jiggles and ends up messing up then I get out of my meditative running state trying to adjust the iPod. I know, first world problems…to death. But still, I would love to have it.

oh my gosh. this is like, my fantasy bra. i go walking and HIIT sprinting on a trail near my apartment that runs by a creek, and i always just stick my housekey and my ipod inside the grubby ol’ sports bra that i have. it doesn’t work very well. this would improve things dramatically.

  13. Caroline responded on 23 Aug 2012 at 1:47 pm #

    and, liked on Facebook!

what the what what! just yesterday i was thinking about how much i hate holding my ipod in my hand when i run. i ran my first half marathon a couple years ago and i’m about to start training for a full (eek!)…maybe some new gear would motivate me?? yes.

i am 35 pounds down in my weightloss journey, and i struggle hardcore with finding a sports bra (that i can afford) that is amazing. i still have about 35 pounds left to go until i reach a healthy weight, and with boob shrinkage, i’m going through bras like crazy! girl habits is amazing and hopefully the mibra will help me out.

  24. Sarah responded on 23 Aug 2012 at 4:02 pm #

I am trying to get into the habit of execise. It is a struggle but I am getting there. Always can use another sports bra! And what a fantastic idea — that pocket in the front!

  27. Kae responded on 23 Aug 2012 at 5:19 pm #

That sounds great, I’d love to win this! It’d definitively make exercising more fun & stylish…

  28. T.K. responded on 23 Aug 2012 at 6:06 pm #

I want one so that i can finally retire my circa 2000 ipod shuffle, which I still use cause you can wear it around your neck when you exercise.

  29. Nazira responded on 23 Aug 2012 at 6:08 pm #

oh gosh I would absolutely love a mi-bra. First off I always have trouble finding good-fitting sports bras because I am a C/D depending on the brand but I have a small rib cage so they are always too big around to keep the girls in place. Secondly the idea of putting the iPod in the bra is seriously genius. My running workouts are usually done on a treadmill and not outdoors simply because I am always either awkwardly holding my iPod and getting it sweaty in my hands or trying to tuck it into my shorts and it usually falls out. Seriously would save me a lot of hassle and take away my excuses for not exercising outdoors instead of just in the gym.

  30. Jess responded on 23 Aug 2012 at 6:26 pm #

Oooo I want a Mi-Bra because I’m training for a marathon and need to start carrying money with me–I’ll be far enough away from home on some runs that if something happened, I’d want to cab it back.

PLUS, my old bras have lost their support. :P

  39. Marie responded on 23 Aug 2012 at 11:07 pm #

I would love a Mi-Bra because my newest fitness goal is to work up to a marathon! I don’t have a gym membership since I train in Jiu Jitsu and thai boxing so my only option at the moment is to run outside and Mi-Bra would make it so much easier :)

  40. sami responded on 24 Aug 2012 at 12:40 am #

I would LOVE one as I’ve just joined the gym at work and am enjoying my new fitness plans and goals… but the other gym-goers play some awful music sometimes. I have a walkman rather than an ipod, it’s actually a little smaller than ipods I think, so a mi-bra would be so helpful! Theres no arm band for walkmans and holding the thing or putting it in a pocket are not great solutions.
Anyway the mi-bra looks super comfy too, which would be an obvious plus :D

  41. Kande responded on 24 Aug 2012 at 12:47 am #

I am currently training for a half marathon. I wear a bra …. and a shirt. And stuff my iPod down the top of my bra. Because apparently I am not classy enough to think up inventing a mi bra. Would wearing one make me a tiche classier? No, the amount I sweat means that ship has sailed ( no pun intended!). But at least wearing it would mean my electronics would be safer as I am afraid boob sweat has fried my iPod Nano. Sigh …. and since I need to buy a new Nano, winning the bra to protect it would be sweet! :) Fingers crossed!!

  42. Christine responded on 24 Aug 2012 at 12:52 am #

The reason I would love a Mi-Bra is so I don’t have to keep sticking my iPod between my breasts in my actual sports bra and then afterwards taking off the case to wipe all the sweat out of it. Good system? No. But functional, so I keep doing it.

Was that too much information? Real life is sweaty sometimes.

  43. Amy responded on 24 Aug 2012 at 10:58 am #

I’ve been looking for the perfect sports bra with a pocket to tuck my cochlear implant processor into. Clips rub and armbands are irritating. Now that I can hear while I run, my daughter and I are training for our first 5K.

  44. Kristina responded on 24 Aug 2012 at 12:25 pm #

I like to take walks with my dog and usually end up having to wear a hoodie, no matter what the weather is like, because the hoodie has a pocket that i keep my blackberry to listen to Pandora. If i get going at a fast pace the phone falls out of the pocket and it is frustrating. Also, I usually end up hiding my car keys in a bush somewhere so i don’t have to keep them in my pocket.

  45. j responded on 24 Aug 2012 at 3:35 pm #

would love one … but can’t imagine it fitting me correctly. would also love recommendations for a sports bra that doesn’t have underwire and actually works for a 30g. anyone? anyone?

  47. Rachel responded on 24 Aug 2012 at 9:05 pm #

j – I hear you on sports bra difficulties. I’m a 34/36 dd/ddd (it varies by month and bra) I’ve learned to love enell bras (http://www.enell.com/) and bras by shock absorber (http://www.shockabsorberusa.com/). They aren’t attractive and they cost a pretty penny, but they both let me run, jump, lift weights, and other vigorous exercise without worrying about knocking myself out by my giant boobs bouncing up and hitting me in the face. Moving Comfort (http://www.movingcomfort.com/) also makes some great sports bras, but I find them not quite as supportive for high impact stuff. If you have a Title Nine store near you, they can be a great place to look.

  48. Ashley K responded on 25 Aug 2012 at 8:23 pm #

I would love it because it’s super convenient for carrying those small things (ipod, keys) you need when you go running. Brilliant!

  49. Nidia responded on 25 Aug 2012 at 11:15 pm #

I’d love this bra for hula-hooping! I can tuck my iPod in and spin away! I’m always looking for a good way to keep my iPod safe, especially while chest & vertical hooping, and this might be the perfect solution!!

I don’t run, but I do yoga, skating, skipping, hula hooping and playing on a playground like a maniac. I would use the Mi-Bra to push out of my comfort zone and show my stomach off (which really is more beautiful than I sometimes think).
Oh, I guess it would be handy for holding my mp3 player and house key as well!

  67. Katie responded on 28 Aug 2012 at 11:26 pm #

This might be kind of silly, but I want this bra because Kate just inspired me to go jogging in just a sports bra (and well, pants).

It of course also seems very practical – things don’t stay in pants pockets very well while jogging.

If I won this giveaway, I would feel obligated to go jogging with nothing over it, and that would be pretty awesome.

  68. Debra responded on 30 Aug 2012 at 9:27 am #

Oh man this is awesome! I just started running a month ago, and by the end of THIS month I’ll be up to a full 5K. It can be tough but it also feels great to get up, get out, & use my body. To me, fitness isn’t a size or a shape, it’s your body’s ability to do the things you want it to. Fitness is flexibility, strength, endurance, coordination… So my fitness goals look a lot less like “lose 10lbs” and a lot more like “do a handstand”, or, this month, “run 5K”
I’ve been running without my iPod because (living & running in NYC) I need my keys, metrocard, ID, & cell phone, and that’s a lot to carry with no pockets & a water bottle in one hand. I’ve just been stuffing it all into my cleavage but this is quite obviously not the best choice because (ew alert) it gets sweaty in there! The mi-bra will put music back in my workout & my life. And probably also make all the other girls in my running group mad jealous. (though at such a reasonable price, they can cure their jealousy by just buying their own)
    In conclusion, omgwant!!!!!
